We are a collective of friends with a knack for proper festivities and visuals, a strong sense for musical entertainment, and, last but not least, a soft spot for all things quirky.

In 2021, we first had the idea to combine these three passions in the form of an oversized house party, celebrating exactly in our own style. The venue for this inaugural event was to be the Handrich household; Mama and Papa Handrich were sent off on vacation and the party fun could begin. With a lot of love for detail, we set off in search of lost time, transformed the Handrich living room into a time capsule, and danced through former childhood bedrooms out into the garden until we lost all sense of time. We would have loved to stop time altogether – it was that beautiful, that GRANDE with you guys.

So much heart, soul, and passion went into the story, decor, and lineup of the first Nimmermeer party that it quickly became clear: this could easily turn into a whole festival. So, more little fishes joined our cozy school, and preparations for the second edition got rolling. It was supposed to be an even crazier bash – but we absolutely wanted to keep that familiar, intimate vibe.

In 2022, we ended up in Meudelfitz in the Wendland region: Aboard the RV Frequenzia, our mission took us through the unfathomable depths of the Nimmermeer, past enchanted coral gardens, on the trail of the legendary Mola fish, who – as we found out – was in love with the moon. Sparks really flew between the moon and the Mola fish, and a love like that had to be celebrated! The second Nimmermeer became a festival of love; we partied longer and louder than the police allow – unfortunately in the truest sense of the word.

After that party, we needed to take a breather. We deliberately took some time to tune in, reflect, and further develop our structures. Since then, we’ve organized ourselves according to the sociocracy model in various working groups and make our decisions by consent.

In 2024, it was finally time: liftoff for the big mission – the journey to the beloved moon. But as is the case with intergalactic endeavors, not everything went according to plan. Space Train 1578 towards Moon Central Station unexpectedly got caught in a loop and had to make a pit stop in tranquil Klein Spaceow in the Uckerall. The cause – as it turned out – was a malfunction in Schaumtraut’s laundromat. The backup rocket on standby wasn’t exactly in prime condition either, so it quickly became clear: only through excessive space-raving could enough Ultra-Spectral Fuel be generated to continue the mission. And what can we say – you guys delivered! By joining forces, enough energy was released that the rocket was ultimately able to launch successfully towards the moon.

After this brilliant weekend in the Uckerall, we needed another breather. We used the time to gather our strength and start searching for a new home for Nimmermeer – because the old spot in the Uckermark was unfortunately no longer available to us.

This phase brought a breath of fresh air: lots of new crew members found their way on board and strengthened our collective with drive, ideas, and a whole lot of heart. By now, our crew consists of over 50 dedicated people working together to keep Nimmermeer growing.
